These sister restaurants serve deeply flavorful Burmese cuisine. Try the iconic Tea Leaf Salad and rich Coconut Curry. Vegetarians can easily swap in tofu for any protein dish.

Not your typical coffee stop, Island Vintage has multiple locations across the islands—but the Ewa spot is the most beautiful yet. Don’t miss their vegetarian brunch plates; they’re truly exceptional.

Best Restaurants in North Shore

Barrio Café

Our favorite Mexican restaurant on the island! The colorful decor featuring portraits of Mexican icons and lucha libre masks creates a fun, welcoming atmosphere. We always start with their house-made chips and salsa, and love the Chorifu (house vegan protein) tacos or the mixed taco plate. We loved Barrio Café so much we even shared their story in Honolulu Magazine! It’s a great stop before or after your North Shore adventure. Be sure to say aloha to Miriam, the amazing owner and chef.

Old Waialua Sugar Mill

Papi’s Tacos

Another taco favorite! Authentic, satisfying, and paired with delicious salsas, this spot is perfect for a beachside bite after snorkeling.
